I’ll Always Think of You That Way
Gilded Balloon
A charmingly warm and sometimes humorous performance about the nature of friendship, mutual support and differing agendas.
Savannah is a wistful, dreamy creature who wants to juggle samurai swords and karmically cleanse the world. Alison is cynical, disillusioned, depressed and still deeply in love with her ex. After meeting in a psychiatric hospital, they forge a five-year friendship which takes them both on a journey of self-discovery and change.
From the outset, the show is produced as Alison’s eulogy to Savannah at her funeral. It’s a fairly poignant and moving performance, with some touching and humorous moments. Despite its inclusion in the “comedy” category of the fringe programme, this piece is essentially more theatrical than comedic, but it’s worth a look.
